The border
Where is the BP-250 Gabd-Remdan border?
BP-250 Gabd-Remdan is a crossing on the Pakistan–Iran border in Gwadar district, Balochistan. Gabd is the Pakistani side and Remdan the Iranian side. It is about 87 km from Gwadar on the N‑10 Coastal Highway and about 137 km from the port of Chabahar in Iran.
When did the BP-250 Gabd-Remdan crossing open?
It opened as an international crossing on 19 December 2020. It is the second official crossing on the Pakistan–Iran border, after Taftan.
What is the difference between Gabd and Remdan?
They are the two sides of the same crossing, officially named BP-250 Gabd-Remdan Border (Remdan is also spelled Rimdan). Gabd is the Pakistani border station, run by Pakistan Customs, and Remdan is the Iranian border station. Cargo is cleared out of one country on one side and into the other country on the other side.
Is Gabd a TIR crossing point?
Yes. Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue notified Gabd as a TIR border crossing point in May 2021, so goods can move through it under the TIR system.
What are the border's working hours?
Working hours are set by the authorities on both sides and can change, for example around public holidays. Contact us for the current timings before you dispatch a truck.
Customs and documents
What does a customs clearing agent do?
A clearing agent represents the importer or exporter before customs. At Gabd that means checking documents, filing the goods declaration, attending examination, following the assessment of duties and taxes, and getting the cargo released.
Which documents do I need to import goods from Iran?
Usually a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, the importer's registration details and transport documents. Food, plants, chemicals and other regulated goods also need certificates or permits. See our guide to documents for Iran–Pakistan trade.
Which documents do I need to export from Pakistan to Iran?
Usually a commercial invoice, packing list, the exporter's registration details and a certificate of origin, plus whatever the Iranian buyer needs for import at Remdan. We coordinate the Iranian side for you.
How long does customs clearance take at Gabd?
It depends on the goods, whether the documents are complete and whether an examination is ordered. We give you an expected timeline with your quote and keep you updated at each stage.
How much does customs clearance cost?
Our charges depend on the goods, the volume, the direction and the services you need. Duties and taxes are set by customs. Request a quote with your shipment details.
Can you clear goods that are already at the border?
Yes. Send us the documents and vehicle details and we'll check what is needed to get the cargo released.
Transport and storage
Can you transport goods from the border to Gwadar or Karachi?
Yes. We arrange trucks from Gabd to Gwadar (about 87 km), to Karachi along the Coastal Highway, and to other cities on request. See transport.
Do you have storage near the border?
Yes. We store cargo near the crossing while it waits for documents, inspection, a truck or a buyer, and can consolidate or split loads. See warehousing.
Can you handle transit to Afghanistan or Central Asia?
Gabd is a notified TIR crossing point, so transit under TIR is possible. Tell us the route and the goods and we'll confirm what can be arranged.
Working with us
Do you handle both the Pakistan and Iran sides?
Yes. We clear goods at Gabd on the Pakistan side and handle export clearance, suppliers and transport on the Iranian side at Remdan, so you deal with one agent.
